BAD MATTER
Bad Matter, also known as Fixed Frequency, born in Berlin,
acquired a lot of musical influences over the years in this city.
His interest to do something with music increased and he started
djing at home in 1992, first steps in sequencing followed 2 years later.
Many different kinds of music derived from projects with friends or
work for theatres, but he liked broken beats from the very beginning.
jungle / drum & bass was love on first sight and he focused more and
more on it. Now, involved in the Audiomassive crew from Berlin,
he works as a DJ, producing with them, others and solo.

CORESPLITTAZ
Coresplittaz started producing with
an Amiga 500 in 1991/92. He made many Happy Breakbeat tracks
with it but really started producing with his first synth
in 1996. Until then he never stopped producing. It began
with dirty jungle tracks came to a more simple drum &
bass style and returned to the old amens with new productions
abilities due to new hard- and software. He used to play
guitar when he was around 16. He played in a hardcore band
and still loves this kind of music. To him his drum &
bass tracks andmost
of the tunes he likes are kind of a new dimension of what
they did with their instruments in their band. He loves
the strength, aggression and power that lies within this
music. Agression might sound negative but this is positive
aggression that makes you bang your head or jump on the
dancefloor. The most important things in his life are: real
friends, real love, music, creativity.

MARK TAILOR
It all began for him in 1995 after hearing a drum & bass compilation called 'The One In The Jungle'. He got so enticed with breakbeats that he began creating his own music. Most of the beats made until 2005 were pretty much experimental but then it was time for him to make something suitable for listening, so he remixed 'Cuts' by Protech which immediately got released on vinyl. After that he started receiving offers from labels such as Flexible, Nightmare, Independenza etc. His next tune 'Aliens' was signed to WDM Records and remixed by SPL. Mark Tailor is rightfully considered as a promising russian producer. His tracks are beiing played by many international and russian DJ's. He plays out a lot and was part of the legendary Therapy Sessions show. He makes it with industrial percussive beats, gloomy background and soul of the dark side. Heavyweight, mysterious, enigmatic and scary are the perfect words to describe his soundscapes, never limited to any genre.

NANOTEK
New Zealand's Nanotek aka Mark Christiansen is the foremost name in dark Drum and Bass in the country and his distinctive, brooding, malignant style has earned him the recognition of the local and international Drum and Bass communities in a short space of time.
At the end of 2006, Germany's Intransigent Recordings picked up “Nightwatch” and the beginning of 2007
saw Dylan of Freak Recordings sign Nanotek with his first release on sister label Obscene Recordings.
“Deadly Force” and “Acid Burn” marked the beginning of Nanotek's foray into international Drum and Bass success and was emphatically supported by heavyweights such as Tech Itch, Current Value, SPL, Gein, Counterstrike & Limewax.
On the horizon is Nanotek's first 12” on Freak Recordings, the highly anticipated “Never Say Die” & “Angels of Truth” and on Tech Itch Recordings “Better Place”. In addition we can look forward to Nanotek on remixing duties of Current Value & Gein with imminent collaborations with SPL, Gein & Counterstrike.

N.PHECT & DIZ:PLAY
Cologne based Sebastian and Henrik
Wild aka N.Phect & Diz:Play co-operate since the beginning
of 2002 as a producer team for drum & bass. In the years
before the two brothers gained experience in different bands,
sometimes even in the same band, and thus created a basis
for their current activity. At the same time they began
to produce electronic music using the computer, which led
to a self-promoted cd. Quickly the genre shifted to drum
& bass. Soon the two created themselves a basis for
using their definition of drum & bass and being able
to use the experience in producing they'd made before they
did a couple of tracks within the first months. In december
2002 they send a promo cd to different labels containing
7 tracks, which led to an unexpectedly positive feedback
within the german and international scene. Soon 'Rotor'
was signed to Protogen Records. The other tracks aswell
led to international contacts and remixes, e.g. the Su3ject
Remix of 'Tsunami', which even led to a lot of feedback
out of the UK and was finally signed to Trickdisc. In the
year 2003 further releases followed with signings to Cativo's
label Assimilate and the infamous Basswerk imprint. If asked
to describe their present musical style using 3 artists,
the N.Phect & Diz:Play often name Stakka & Skynet
and Black Sun Empire. Also the tracks they've produced lately,
a remix of Comatrons 'San Diego', the massive floor bomb
'Nostromo', the deep 'Velvet Morning' and 'Body Movin`'
are being played on dubplate in venues worldwide. Using
the contacts they'd made through the times, N.Phect &
Diz:Play came to act as DJs at Germanies biggest events
like e.g. the 'Kings Of The Jungle' in Mannheim.

SCARY
Otto Lorenz aka Scary was born in Berlin in Oktober 1982. He started to spin hip hop at the age of 16 together with a friend. Shortly after he discovered his passion for drum & bass, started to collect records and played out on parties. At the same time the first beats were produced on his PC. Inspired by the sound of Ram Records and Bad Company and also Ant Miles in particular, the first tracks came about. At the moment he loves the sound of The Upbeats,Hive,Break and Noisia, and this influences his style of djing: techno influenced but melodic soundscapes fueled by heavy beats. In the beginning of 2006 he became a member of the well known Berlin drum & bass crew 'Audiomassive'. Through that, a much appreciated contact with Bad Matter came about. Hooking up with him on following productions under the alias of 'Blam!' or solo as 'Scary', the two constantly work on perfecting their sound. In the late summer of 2006, Scary released his first tune on the Berlin drum & bass label No!Breaks. The second one followed shortly after, in January 2007 the co-production with Bad Matter 'True Romance' was released on Intransigent Digital . 'Jam' and 'Alpha' were released on the upcoming Berlin label 'Trustinmusic', and 'Fujiko', also a 'Blam!'-work on Intransigent is the latest release so far.

TECHNICAL ITCH
Back in 1991 Mark Caro (aka Technical Itch) was based in Birmingham, UK, DJing at local parties & started out on the production trail with a very limited set up. As his musical production skills and talent developed Mark's unit became more professional and he released tracks as ENTT through the Ibiza label. Mark had by now hooked up with Darren Beale (Decoder – now member of band Kosheen) forming a partnership on the first Plasmic Life EP that appeared on the Brain imprint. Further releases ensued, but Mark had the desire to set up his own label, and so Technical Itch Recordings was launched. The label successfully took off, especially with the support of DJ Kenny Ken, who played a selection of Technical Itch tracks on the legendary Kiss FM. The rewards began to reap and all of Marks hard work began to pay off. On the back of this exposure the Technical Itch name was signed to Moving Shadow and the label was renamed Tech Itch Recordings. By this time Mark was settled in Bristol and in partnership with Darren, as they say - the rest is history. With strong links to Moving Shadow over the years Tech Itch Recordings has been playing a major part in the drum & bass worldwide scene. Mark's original tracks are widely renowned for their unique style, high level of production and programming. With over 50 releases on the Tech Itch label and over 25 on sister label Penetration, along with countless releases and pseudonyms on many other labels - Mark’s stronghold over the drum & bass community is without question. Easily one of the most sought after and heralded producers in the scene and with knowledge gained from attending many many mastering sessions over the years his knowledge is second to none.

TYPECELL
Guido Hoppe aka Typecell is a drum & bass producer and DJ from Kassel, Germany. Having bought his first set of turntables and a mixer at the age of 14 and practicing with the sounds of hip-hop to acid house, settling with techno as his choice, came the birth of DJ P.M.C. By 1996 his talent was cultivated to producing with his first official release being distributed with his self-made record label Genetic Rhythm Records (success came with the publication of the 3rd Genetic Rhythm Records release, followed by more releases on such labels as Bonzai Records, Red Alert, Thunderdome, House Nation as well as many others. The name DJ P.M.C. became well known abroad which lead to an international tour. By 1998 DJ P.M.C.’s interests were moving more toward drum & bass after he listened to Makai's 'Stealth' album. His decision to stop making techno sounds as well as closing the label Genetic Rhythm Records was made to concentrate on his creation of fresh technoid drum & bass. In 1999, he created the new moniker Typecell in order to produce his more experimental tracks by fusing techno and drum & bass. His reputation was built in the underground scene by utilizing a series of mixtapes and numerous innovative releases on vinyl, CD and MP3. By 2002 his record label Protogen Records was born targeting a more forward thinking, clubfriendly drum & bass sound. Since it’s inception, Typecell has received a great level of resonance and support from many well-known, respected artists worldwide. Towards the end of 2002, Typecell started a new project with the main focus of high quality DJ mixsets for free, courtesy of www.drumnbassmix.com. In 2004, Subplate Recordings was added to the Protogen camp as a sublabel for his electronic, downbeat project. Thankfully, with the global respect from artists and fans alike, the message is clear for this producer, the future is definitely here for more international DJ gigs and releases. Be prepared!
